1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God: for no human can do these miracles that you do, except God be with him. " 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Verily, truly, I say to you, Except a human be born again, they cannot see the kingdom of God. " 4 Nicodemus saith to him, “How can a human be born when they are old? Can they enter a second time into their mother’s womb, and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Verily, truly, I say to you, Except a human be born of water and [of] the Spirit, they cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Matthew 27:45–51 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. At about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, ‘Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?’ that is to say, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ Some of them that stood there, when they heard [that], said, ‘This [man] calleth for Elias. ’ Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled [it] with vinegar, and put [it] on a reed/pole, and gave him to drink.
