Put on deodorant each day. If one type of deodorant doesn’t work for you, try a different kind. (For example, if stick deodorant doesn’t help, try gel deodorant. ) Brush and floss your teeth daily.

If you often come home feeling tight and sore around your neck and shoulders, take time to lie flat on the floor and stretch. Then lie upside-down on the sofa with your head pointing towards the ground. This will help elongate the spine and help to relieve the aches. Work on your posture, without obsessing. It’s okay if you slouch or lean sometimes.

Try to fill at least 1/3 of your plate with fruits and vegetables. Avoid starvation or fad diets. These can hurt your health and your metabolism (even making you heavier). Eat when you’re hungry. Make sure to drink lots of water. Try keeping a water bottle at your desk, and refilling it when it gets low.

You don’t have to constantly smile. If you’re upset, you’re allowed to express it. Nobody expects you to be positive all the time.

Don’t beat yourself up too much over your mistakes. Everyone messes up sometimes. It’s most important that you learn from it, and keep doing your best.

Learn a language. Play an instrument, or sing. Learn to code. Write or draw.

Consider feedback before changing things. If someone thinks you should do something differently, consider whether you value their opinion, and whether they have a point. You don’t have to do something just because someone else thinks you should.

Make sure to research charities before getting involved. Some, like PETA and Autism Speaks, tend to do more harm than good. Keep an eye on your energy. While it’s good to help, you also shouldn’t wear yourself down taking on too much. Remember to take care of your basic needs and get enough time to recharge when you need it. There’s nothing ideal about exhausting yourself.
