Since Yasuo has a pretty good Early Game and is still strong in the Late Game, it seems almost as if he has no weaknesses. However, that is incorrect, and here are the best ways for LoL: Wild Rift players to deal with handling and countering Yasuo next time he’s on the enemy team.
Crowd Control
CC (Crowd Control) refers to any ability that hinders or interrupts a Champion’s movement or actions. A few examples would be Stuns, which stop all movement and attacks, Slows, which slow how fast Champions can move, and Snares, which stop all movement but Champions can still attack if they’re within range to do so.

Champions with a lot of CC are very good at shutting down and countering Yasuo. Since Yasuo has low defenses, he relies on his swift mobility, wind wall, and Passive Ability to survive or avoid incoming damage. However, when under the effects of CC, especially if there are multiple sources of it, he can be killed before getting a chance to do so.
Itemization
Yasuo is a Champion that relies on Physical Damage, Attack Speed, and Critical Damage to defeat his opponents. Regarding itemization, players would want items such as Thornmail, Frozen Heart, Randuin’s Omen, Plated Steelcaps, Guardian Angel, or any other defensive items that provide Armor. These specific items are mentioned because they are all perfectly designed to diminish Yasuo’s fighting capabilities.
Thornmail provides a ton of Armor while reflecting some Physical Damage taken back at the enemy, and reduces healing effects. Yasuo will hurt himself the more he attempts to fight players using this item. Frozen Heart gives a lot of Armor and reduces nearby enemies’ Attack Speed. Not only does this item reduce Physical Damage but slowing down Attack Speed hurts Yasuo’s DPS (Damage Per Second) by a lot, and even slows down the execution of his skill combos. Randuin’s Omen provides players with a lot of Armor, reduces enemies’ Attack Speed when hit by them, and lessens incoming Critical Damage. This item is by far the best for dealing with Yasuo because it diminishes the value of every important stat the Champion needs.
Plated Steelcaps are boots and very cost-efficient for what they offer. Not only does this option provide players with Armor to reduce Physical Damage and Movement Speed to help dodge incoming tornados from Yasuo, but it is also the only item in the game that decreases incoming damage from Auto Attacks by a percentage (15%). The stronger Yasuo becomes, the more effective this item is because the percentage will reduce even more incoming damage.

Lastly, Guardian Angel is a great option for Champions that can’t afford to build the aforementioned Tank items because it offers players Attack Damage, Armor, and a revival effect. Using an item like this is great for Assassins and Marksman because it will make Yasuo players think twice about whom they should focus on killing first in a team fight since they’ll know their opponent will revive within a few seconds of dying. It also will give players extra confidence to be more aggressive against Yasuo because they’ll know they have a second chance at life.
Champions
Kayle, Pantheon, Annie, Fizz, and Renekton are all Champions that counter Yasuo fairly well or shut him down completely.
Kayle is a great duelist in the latter stages of matches and has a range advantage over Yasuo, which will give him some trouble farming early on. However, the main reason why Kayle counters Yasuo is her Ultimate Ability, which deals a lot of Magic Damage while providing her with temporary invincibility. Yasuo will never be able to kill Kayle on even ground as long as she has her Ultimate Ability available.
Pantheon is very strong early on and can block incoming damage with his E ability, while stunning Yasuo with his W ability. Combining this with the raw damage Pantheon has, especially in the early game, there is little to nothing Yasuo can do in this matchup to tip the scales in his favor.
Annie has great burst Damage and her Ultimate can’t be blocked by Yasuo’s Wind Wall. Her Passive Ability also makes her damaging ability Stun enemies, so with a proper setup, she can burst Yasuo down in one rotation, making his wind wall nearly useless against her.
Fizz can deal great burst damage while relying on his E ability to become immune to damage to dodge Yasuo’s tornados. If Yasuo can’t land his tornado, he can’t use his Ultimate Ability, without ally interference, which significantly reduces his damage output. Renekton is a powerful Early Game Bruiser that has access to a Stun, Mobility, and Life Steal.
Renekton will be able to easily out damage Yasuo in short trades and sustain most of the damage Yasuo deals to him. Wind wall is also useless against Renekton because he has no ranged abilities. There’s not much Yasuo can do other than sit back and play safe against Renekton, otherwise, he will continuously die with ease once Renekton kills him once.
